28 November this year marks the 500th anniversary of the Danish-Norwegian Archbishop Erik Valkendorf’s death in Rome in 1522. A prolific and multifaceted character, Valkendorf played an important role in Danish-Norwegian political, ecclesiastical, and intellectual culture at the beginning of the sixteenth century. To commemorate him, two events take place:
